Nominations & Eligibility

Nomination Process

Individual campuses are responsible for nominating candidates for the Herbert Presidential Scholars Program based on information submitted as part of the prospective student's admissions application. Preference is given to early applicants. To ensure consideration for nomination, students should apply to IU (and specifically to the campus where they wish to enroll) by November 1 of their senior year of high school for full financial and scholarship consideration. Awards vary by campus but will be renewable for four years.

Eligibility

Herbert Presidential Scholars are a special group of scholars at Indiana University. Their outstanding academic records have already established them as top students in their high schools.

In addition, they have strong leadership skills through school and community activities. Consideration for the program also is given to candidates who have overcome personal challenges or other obstacles and who show great potential and motivation to succeed and lead.

Candidates for the program must be Indiana residents entering their freshman year of college.
