Scholarship Maintenance and Renewal

  • Maintain the GPA that is required from your other matching scholarship E.g. Hudson and Holland scholarships requires certain GPA, the student must maintain that GPA or higher
  • The scholarships are interdependent. If a student loses one scholarship, they lose the matching one as well
  • Community service is not required
  • Attending HPS events is not required but is encouraged. All Scholars are urged to take advantage of the information and networking opportunities presented during programs such as our Herbert Scholar Hours (video links below):
  • Need to have "Full time student" standing, so at least 12 credits per semester

3-2 Option

Scholars are permitted to use their award for a maximum of eight semesters at Indiana University. Students seeking to earn their Bachelors in three years and their Masters in two years, commonly known as the 3-2 program, may be eligible to renew their scholarship for the first year of their Masters coursework. To learn more about conditions and eligibility for the 3-2 option, scholars are advised to contact the Herbert Presidential Scholars university-wide office at hscholar@iu.edu.
